Since our first team graduated 1989, more than 295 people have received assistance dogs from us at no charge. Our average cost for each team trained is more than $28,000.
But these gifts depend on your gifts. It is only through contributions that we’re able to carry out our mission and keep this precious resource available and growing throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri and parts of Illinois.
Why Donate?
The next person who needs the help of an assistance dog could be you, a loved one or someone you know. But even if the need doesn’t hit that close to home, our services are absolutely vital to individuals, to families and to communities. As important as these human reasons are, many of our supporters give because of their interest in the dogs. It’s been our goal from the start to select and train adopted shelter dogs whenever possible. As a donor, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made an impact on someone's life. And there may be tangible tax benefits from donating, since gifts are deductible to the full extent of the law.
